Secure an appointment in good time

Make sure you book your appointment in good time and while you are still pregnant (ideally days/weeks before the birth). We will use your due date to reserve a provisional appointment. Keep us updated

Please keep us informed if your newborn needs to stay in the hospital so that we can reschedule and adjust the date of your newborn shoot if necessary. In any case, your little darling should first have the opportunity to settle in properly at home and get used to his whole family before you come to our studio for newborn photography.

Best time for newborn photography

For newborn photography, we recommend bringing your baby to us between the 5th and 14th day of life. In these first few days after birth, your newborn will still sleep a lot, which creates ideal conditions for the photo shoot.

Duration of the newborn shoot

A large newborn shooting lasts 2 to 3 hours including breaks. We take enough time to photograph your little mice and shoot the perfect newborn photographs. Therefore, bring enough time to your photo session and ideally do not plan any further follow-up appointments.

We design the newborn photo shoot according to your wishes and ensure that your baby feels comfortable. We discuss the selection of props with you in advance so that you can bring the right outfits and clothing for your child. During the photo shoot you have enough time to change diapers, change clothes, cuddle and breastfeed. As soon as your little darling has fallen asleep gently, we carefully place him or her in the selected positions and in front of the lovingly selected backgrounds. Everything is individually adapted to your ideas in order to perfectly capture this special moment.

Perfectly equipped studios for newborn photography

The rooms of ours photo studios are well heated so that the babies are nice and warm during the newborn shoot, even if they are only wearing a cute bodysuit. Of course we also have a blanket to warm your newborn during possible breaks. As an adult, you shouldn't dress too bulky. It is best to come in the “onion look” so that you can take something off if necessary. You are welcome to use our photography props such as decorations, accessories, hats, doilies, boxes, baskets, hair bands, towels, etc. for photography. We offer a wide selection for both boys and girls in this area.

Make-up for the new parents

Newborns and babies always look rosy and perfect. If you, as new parents, want to be in the photo, you may want to cover up a few dark circles under your eyes. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own make-up artist to your newborn shoot. A selection recommended partner can be found under this link. Newborn photo shoot checklist

A happy baby makes for a smooth photo shoot. To ensure your newborn baby is comfortable during the shoot, we recommend feeding them and changing their diaper beforehand. Comfortable and loose clothing also helps to keep your baby relaxed. A sleeping baby is the best place to take photos. Check out our tips on how to calm your baby and prepare them for the shoot so that they sleep peacefully during the appointment.

General preparation for the shooting

A relaxing bath in the morning before the newborn photo shoot will help your baby to calm down and promote sleepiness, creating ideal conditions for the photo shoot.
It is no problem to feed or breastfeed your baby shortly before the appointment; a full and tired baby will go back to sleep more easily. Our experienced photographers will take care of the perfect pose for the photos.
Plan to arrive some time before the shoot to allow your baby to get used to the new environment. Our studio is reserved for you and is preheated in advance.
Please remember to pack the following items: fresh diapers, changing supplies, formula and bottles (if your baby is not breastfed), burp cloths, a change of clothes and a few favorite toys to calm them down. This will ensure you are well prepared and offer your little darling a worry-free package for the photo shoot.
Plan enough time as a buffer after the shooting and your photo session and do not arrange direct follow-up appointments for mum and baby.
For breastfed children: If your baby reacts to certain foods with flatulence or a sore bottom, then it is best to avoid them 1-2 days before the baby photo shoot. Further information

Consultation with the photographer

Are there any motifs or a special type of picture that you particularly wish for? Here are a few examples: detailed photos of hands and feet, posed photos with accessories (alarm clock, scales, measuring tape, ...), parents' hands for size comparison (manicure beforehand), baby in a basket, baby with parents and family, baby with siblings or baby with Domestic animal. Feel free to show us material in advance of how you imagine your pictures to be after the shoot.
To ensure harmonious photos, we will also talk to you about the outfit (e.g. neutral, muted colors, white or dark) and clarify preferences, dislikes, desired colors, poses and styles and advise you accordingly.

Are you planning a newborn shoot at home?

For the home shoot and the appropriate resulting photography, please think about suitable locations and good lighting conditions. Consider whether the newborn shoot should take place in the living room, the parents' bedroom or the children's room. A couch, an armchair or even a nice carpet are suitable for placing the child. If the weather is good, an outdoor shoot is also a good option and beautiful photos can be taken outside in the garden. A shady spot should definitely be chosen for this.
